What is an ETA - Electronic Travel Authorisation?

An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is a digital entry permit required for travelers from certain countries before they visit a specific destination. It is linked electronically to the traveler’s passport and grants permission to enter the country for a short-term stay, usually for tourism, business, or transit purposes.

Unlike a traditional visa, an ETA is typically easier and faster to obtain, as the application process is done online, requiring only basic personal and travel information. Approval is usually granted within minutes or hours, depending on the country's regulations.

Who we are and what services we offer

We are a travel agency specializing in assisting travelers with their ETA applications. Our goal is to simplify the process by providing guidance, support, and ensuring all necessary information is correctly submitted.

Please note that we are not an official government entity. The final decision on your ETA application rests with the relevant authorities. However, our expertise helps to reduce errors and improve your chances of a smooth application process.

What you can do with an ETA

Whether you need to apply for an ETA depends on why you’re travelling to the UK.

  • Travel to the UK for up to 6 months
  • Travel for tourism, visiting family and friends, a business trip, or short-term study
  • Transit through a UK airport when you need to pass through border control (check with your airline)
  • Multiple entries during the ETA validity period
  • Digital authorisation linked to your passport
  • Simple, fully online application

Important: An ETA does not guarantee entry to the UK. Border officials may refuse entry if you don’t meet immigration requirements upon arrival.

ETA Validity and Duration of Stay

Validity

2 years

The ETA allows multiple entries and is valid for two years from issuance. If your passport expires earlier, the ETA becomes invalid. You must enter the UK before the ETA expires.

Duration of Stay

6 months

With an ETA, eligible travelers may stay in the UK for up to 6 months for tourism, visits, business, or short-term study. Under the Creative Worker concession: up to 3 months. Under Permitted Paid Engagement: up to 1 month.

Renewal

Extensions

The UK ETA cannot be renewed or extended. It’s tied to the passport used in the original application. If your passport expires or you get a new one, you must apply for a new ETA.

What you’ll need

Have your passport, payment method and email ready. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your passport.

  • Eligible Passport

Your passport must be valid and from an eligible country. To benefit from the ETA’s two-year validity, it's best to have at least two years remaining.

  • Recent Photo

Provide a recent, portrait-style photo of your upper body on a plain background, following standard photo guidelines (good lighting, no filters).

  • Payment Method

Pay the ETA fee online with a debit/credit card or Apple Pay/Google Pay. Ensure your method is enabled for international transactions.

  • Email Address

Use an active email to receive ETA updates and the decision. Double-check the spelling and monitor your spam or junk folder.

Who Doesn’t Need the UK ETA

British or Irish Passport Holders

Individuals holding a British or Irish passport are not required to obtain the ETA.

Visa Holders and UK Residents

Those who possess a valid visa or have permission to live, work, or study in the UK do not need the ETA.

Other Nationalities

Currently, nationals from countries that are visa-exempt, other than those eligible for the ETA, do not require this authorization.

Processing Time

Most applicants receive an ETA decision within three working days of submitting their application. Some cases are decided sooner, but timelines can vary.

Processing may take longer if additional verification or security checks are required. These extra steps are routine and depend on the specifics of each application.

Delays can also occur during peak travel periods or due to operational backlogs when application volumes are high.

Errors or missing information commonly extend processing. Double-check that all details match your passport and that required documents are complete before submitting.

Simple. Fast.
